The Wren Haus

I hope you enjoy your time on my blog. Thanks for checking out what I have to say.

My name is Wren. I primarily write about Zen, visual art, poetry, and whatever else appears in my head. To be pinned down to just a few narrow subjects is so boring! Why limit yourself?

Regarding my Zen practice, I am a member of the Kwan Um School of Zen, which is of a Korean lineage. I am not a Zen teacher, Zen master, or any sort of authority on Zen. This blog chronicles my experiences as someone who has spent the past few years trying to find life practices that allow them to live more deeply in this world. Perhaps I’ll liberate all sentient beings while I’m at it. This is a semi-public (completely public, actually, but I don’t expect the masses to flock to this blog) account of my experiences in deepening my Zen practice. I expect to be deluded, misinformed, totally, completely wrong, but then again, so are most people.

I mention the above as Zen, as do most other Buddhist traditions, has an incredible amount of nuance. Please, please, please do not take me as a voice of authority. Imagine the world’s largest grain of salt. Make it slightly bigger. Take that with everything I say.
